What started as a small rented space soon flourished into The Plant Stand—an oasis for plant lovers. As their reputation for exceptional greenery grew, Eddie and Debbie expanded operations into a large warehouse in Costa Mesa, adding wholesale services to meet increasing demand. Their dedication even caught the attention of the Orange County Register, which featured them in a 1989 human-interest story.
In 1994, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start, the Smith family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where they established The Plant Stand of Arizona—a business that has since blossomed into a premier destination for plant enthusiasts, designers, and industry professionals alike.
What began as a modest family business has flourished into a dynamic, family-operated enterprise. Eddie and Debbie, alongside their son Eddie Jr., daughter Christian, and an incredible team, have cultivated a one-of-a-kind shopping experience.
